The Elmer Police Department is located on the second floor of the Elmer Borough Hall located at 120 S. Main Street. The Department now has an authorized strength of six (6) officers, which provides protection and enforcement services.

Elmer Police Department Mission Statement
The primary goal of the Police Department is protection of life and property, prevention of crime and apprehension of criminal perpetrators. The Department strives to provide the best possible police service to residents of Elmer and to those who work, travel and shop here.
Fingerprinting is available at the police station for a fee of $50. Check or money order payable to the Borough of Elmer (NO Cash/Credit/Debit). Call for an appointment (856) 358-0353.
The Salem County Department of Emergency Services will provide radio dispatching services to the Elmer Borough Police Department on a 24-hour basis during the year 2020.

$15 for Senior Citizens; and $10 for students.
Lending Policy: Six items may be borrowed per person for 14 days - books, audio cassette, and or videotapes.
New Books: Only two (2) new books per person - no renewals.
Renewing Policy: If there is no reserve on a book, and if it is not a "new" book, it may be renewed for another 14 days. Come in or call when the library is open.
Book Drop: When the library is closed, there is an outside book drop available by the ramp.
Reserves: If a book you wish to borrow is out, a "HOLD" may be placed on the book. You will be notified when the book comes in.
Books on Audio Cassette | CD: A large collection of books on tape and CD is available.
Large Print Books: The library has its own collection and a rotating collection from the Salem Bookmobile.
Interlibrary Loans: Books can be borrowed free of additional charge from other NJ libraries.
Fines: Late charges are 5¢ per day.
Lost | Damaged Items: Amount charged will be based on the library's cost to replace item. $2.00 for replacement Library Card.
Copier | Computer Printing: 15¢ per page.
FAX: Available for use - ask at circulation desk for more information. $1.50 for first page, $1.00 each additional page.
Internet Access: free of charge - 30 minute limit when people are waiting - only appropriate material may be viewed. The librarian on duty can ask anyone who is acting irresponsibly to leave the library.
Children's Story Time: During the school year there is a Story Time and activity for children ages 3-5. For more information, call or ask at the circulation desk.
